- Identifying and evaluating all potential client exposures
- Determining the most appropriate method of handling these exposures, such as by transfer, avoidance etc.
- Deciding jointly with the client which of these exposures merit an insurance vehicle as a response
- Implementing the response
- Monitoring the results and suggesting changes as appropriate
